Untrained, untamed, unscripted, and unapologetically flowing into her emerging moods and imagination. As a young girl growing up on Long Island, NY Valerie watched her parents, aunts, and uncles enjoying their Sunday afternoon painting socials. A collection of musicians, writers, performing and visual artists with unique voices announcing their creative urges. While reflecting on the pleasures and diversity of her work and life experiences, including lingering scar tissue, she found that creative expressions through paint medium will always assert its demand. Valerie's ability to channel her life experiences, emotions, and reflections into her artwork is truly remarkable.

My improvisational style of art is multi-layered, dense, and an adventure into textures and shapes. Depth radiates through my technique evoking curiosity, wonder, and contemplation. The application of varied materials and the use of any tool my hands reach to embrace resemble the twists and turns of my eclectic professional careers and places I have lived and travelled.
